YO-KAI is a multimedia phenomenon. It’s an original concept created by renowned Japanese game company, LEVEL-5, Inc. With an imaginative plot, great characters, comedy and adventure, YO-KAI WATCH has become one of the most popular franchises of all time in Japan; and it’s now taking the world by storm. Beyond the Youtube channel, my kids are discovering the comics, toys, games, music and so much more!
The YO-KAI WATCH story centers around a young boy named Nate–his special watch empowers him to discover and summon mysterious spirits called YO-KAI, who also help him solve problems in his daily life. But, there are a few reasons that my kids love the show (and why we, as parents, can feel comfortable encouraging our kids in their interest:
- YO-KAI presents lessons in kindness and morality, with each episode focusing on a negative character trait that must be overcome.
- It also part of the Disney XD line-up, which helps to reinforce the kid-friendly, parent-approved status of the show.
- YO-KAI is shareable! My kids loved to host the YO-KAI party, because they (and their friends) all know about the show–they enjoyed interacting and watching the show together.
- It’s an evolving adventure… They continue to discover more ways to interact with YO-KAI.
It’s really a no-brainer, something that we can all feel good about watching with out kids, and talking with them about the experience.
